Biography Influenced by cousins, uncles and even his father as Disc Jockeys on the Island of Trinidad part of The small Twin Island State called Trinidad and Tobago. Born Nicholas A. C. G. Sampson, in the year 1981, to parents Gail and Gordon Sampson and elder brother to Kimberly Sampson. Nicholas “Nicosnyper” Sampson has always loved music. From an early age of six he was exposed to one of the greatest bands to grace the planet, Steel Pulse, from then on the bar was set. Moving to Canada soon after around the age of eight he was further away from the indigenous music of the Caribbean and closer to Rock, Hip-hop, Techno and even country music which would only help him along his journey. Occasionally he would acquire cassettes from Caribbean disc jockeys to keep him in touch with the music he loved. He grew more and more interested with the equipment that played the music, every Caribana his mother would carry him into Toronto and he would be looking out for the trucks that carried the music to see what type of equipment they were using. By this time he was learning to play the violin at Earl Kitchener Elementary School. He took up violin because he saw two of his friends doing it and just wanted to be in with the crowd, two weeks after his friends dropped out of the class, he also wanted to drop out but his Father would not let him to his dismay. He continued learning the violin until it was time to come back home to Trinidad. In Trini he would finish school and form his own Sound System with schoolmates playing in local clubs and parties. He would soon fall out of love with the music he was playing and try out other avenues such as promotions which wouldn’t last very long for him and the music would keep calling him. Then one day an old acquaintance Shurland Lewis would ask for his assistance in building a studio which at that time Nicholas had little knowledge of, but the transition wasn’t a hard one at all for him and the two of them formed Sound Motions Recording Studio and independent label Sound Motions Recordings. But unlike the rest of stables in the local recording industry in Trinidad, Nicholas would not just settle for Trinidad alone he wanted his music to be heard the world over. Branching off from Shurland he carried with him the label and studio name and is now doing it on his own.
